This is our second season of growing GIFT Tilapia at home in Ollur, Thrissur. The fish although assured of not reproducing, gave us a bonus of 2 more batches of Tilapia. This Sunday morning catch was immediately processed for lunch. The fish is tasty and with raw mango and Kudampuli is so tasty the next day and afterwards......
This blog is a platform to publish my experiments with cooking. It also incorporates my organic farming ventures at home. It is high time we discard the toxic and adulterated food and go back to mother nature and find more edible plants and fruits which are not preferred by the present generation. We are also bringing out a self invented recipe of healthy and delicious fresh cut Veg. Salads and Soups which can be tried by anyone for a change.

Recent newspaper reports of Fish with alarming levels of Toxins and Chemicals sold in Kerala market was reaffirming the long time issue of the neglect of the Kerala Fisheries Ministry and Health Ministry who are supposed to care for public health. The Food Safety authority is also a irresponsible Govt. body on this context. The Fruits and Vegetables available in Kerala are also having pesticides and chemicals to dangerous levels that are not good for human consumption. Other food items like Spices, Condiments, Food grains, Cereals, Pulses etc are all adulterated and unchecked by the authorities. This is where the general public can come forward and try to minimise the quantity of poison on their families plates for each meal. They can start growing fruits and vegetables and even fish. My blog on the same subject is a proof that everyone can do it without much efforts both moneywise and labourwise.
